In first grade I learned this world was not as it should be or could be. It will never be what I want it to be. I ache for such a world. We all do.

The ache for such a world beats strongest when:

dreams shatter
this world disappoints
what we love dies
C.S.Lewis wrote: If I find in myself a desire which nothing in this world can satisfy, the most logical explanation is that I was made for another world.

Grief leads us to the real world for which we were made and can know:

beauty that never fades
hope that never disappoints
goodness that never ends
